Jay Bruce MVP candidate?

Posted by PSU ROCKS

I know Jay Bruce has only played 7 games but his stats are unbelivable compared with almost any other player in that same stretch. If he were to keep this same pace for rest of the year could he be considered for rookie of the year and M.V.P.

I know this guy is going to be good. But I don't understand why we would be saying "MVP" after just 7 games. When he gets on par with Chase Utley, then maybe we can talk MVP.

Im sayin MVP because put his first seven games with chase utleys first seven games of the year or even the past seven games and you will see how well he has been doing.

Kevin Maas was so bad that after he was released by Yankees in 1994 the Padres, Reds and Twins had all signed and released him with him not playing a major league game but then the Yankee signed him again in 1955 and he played 22 games and hit .193. Baseball-reference.com compares his stats to such luminaries as Marv Throneberry, Bob Hamelin and Sam Horn.

Jay Bruce was 9 for 13 in Atlanta but has been cooled off in Philadelphia by their starters.
