It's time to rent Slapshot.
Hey Hanrahan, Hanrahan, Hanrahan!!!
At age 83, Paul Newman has died.
He was the star - as Reggie Dunlop - in the best Hockey movie ever made (Apologies to Youngblood and Mystery, Alaska...) - Slapshot.
Reggie Dunlop: Bullshit. I just did.
Hangs up, Phone rings again
Dave 'Killer' Carlson: Coach, I want that hundred dollars.
Reggie Dunlop: Ya gotta earn it, Killer.
Dave 'Killer' Carlson: My attitude's right.
Newman played a lot of sports related roles in his movies.
My kids will remember him best as former Piston Cup Champ "Doc Hudson" in Cars. He was a pool shark in The Hustler and The Color of Money, a baseball player in the original, made for TV version of Bang the Drum Slowly and a million different gunslingers...
I'll always remember him in one of the most under-rated movies ever - The Hudsucker Proxy more than for his lending his name to a delicious line of salad dressings.
Newman was a man's man and the kind of guy every guy liked without getting irritated by his prettiness or annoying activism (like that douchenozzle Robert Redford).
May you finally Rest in Peace, Paul.
The World sucks a little more without you today.
