Is he Allowed to say that???

Yesterday after school, I tuned into ESPN's "The Best of Mike and Mike in the Morning" which usually airs from 2:30-3:00 PM ET. Towards the end of the show, Golic, and Greenberg had a special guest, Baseball HOFer, Mike Schmidt. During the interview they talked about how much Baseball has changed over the years, and stuff like that. But, I happened to realize that he said something like "What the hell happened there", and was just wondering, is he allowed to say that on the air? I hear that word all the time, but I didn't think ESPN would allowed him to say that on the show.

Anyways, I kinda thought it was funny, because he kinda hesistated, as if he knew he shouldn't have said that. Haha, the next time he just said what the heck.

Yes he is allowed to say that as a legal matter. Assuming you are old enough or have permission, go out and rent the George Carlin CD "7 words you can't say on TV." It explains everything. (and it ended up being the leading case defining what you can and can't say on TV!)

BTW - you can "shit" and "pussy" now, they just have restrictions. There's even a Friends episode where joey asked "Does a Bear Shit in the Woods" and of course, the famous South Park Shit episode. After 10pm is the cutoff for most part when it comes to censorship but as long as the station airing it will pay the FCC fine, they can say WHATEVER they want.

The day people get over the fact that they are just words we'll all be better off...

The Day America gets over it's boobs obsession, we'll have good TV like Europe does... they are just boobs, people. You seen one, you seen 'em both. Makes you wonder why America has the highest percentage of sexual assault and rape in the world. America is too repressed. "Freedom" my ass!!!

Oh yeah, "dick" is in the same class too.

I mean what is the REAL difference between "poop". "crap" and "shit"???

What is the difference between "freak", "fudge", "F", "effin'" "fack" and "fuck" - they all mean the EXACT same thing! Why is saying one ok, yet the other isn't? People need to wake up!!!

I used to have this argument with my pastor who said it was wrong to take the Lord's name in vain yet he would say "Gosh" or "Jeez" all the time... abbreviations and synonyms don't change the intended meaning....

the funniest use of the word "pussy" is Arrested Development (I think season three). They use it in two different contexts and keep bleeping the one.

Pfff peanuts compared to some of the other things i've seen recently:

Like the newswoman ont he today show who suggested that some good news for the economy was like "an enema"

Or the commercial with Stacy Keibler, Chad Johnson, Torry Holt and Matt Hasselbeck. Keibler chides hasselbeck's dancing and then Holt and Johnson proceed to mock him...if you see the commercial, you'd understand my point; which is perhaps the equivilent of mocking a black man for not being able to hold a job or some such...

When you think about it, the propogating a stereotype and its almost hypocritical...

What?! Sounds like fun, I don't think I'll be going to any of those anytime soon, considering I live all the way in MD. In fact, pretty soon I will live about 15 minutes away from Brian Billick. Ugh, he's building a house on the Eastern shore of MD.

Ok guys, I know that the word hell is aloud on TV, I watch shows like Family Guy (and sometimes South Park) whenever it's on. I was just surprised that ESPN allowed it. I thought ESPN was censored, and controlled. Maybe I should have worded it better, sorry if I confused you guys.
