I am capable of evaluating a news source for myself. Whether ABC News is or is not "in his pocket", isn't it feasible? Did you watch the video? Did you consider the angles and sight lines? That he was reaching back to help someone else down? And you dismiss all of that as "ridiculous" simply because it was ABC?

No, I dismissed it because

A) Does he have the motor skills of a Toddler? Look, I'm all for a president who's eyes wander a little (we all do, as cheezer suggests), but let's not mince words.

B) What's the big friggin' deal? But ABC's right on track to protect Obama from whatever ills he might have committed.

Wait till they actually find him smoking and ABC suggests is possible that it could have been a candy cigarette.

Angles and sight lines? Is this because Arlen Specter switched parties?

What does Specter have to do with this? And you say ABC isn't why you dismissed it, but by the end of the comment, that's where you ended up again.

I'm not arguing that he's innocent beyond a reasonable doubt, only that it isn't "ridiculous". It's close enough that I'm willing to entertain the possibility that he was checking her out. You're not willing to entertain the possibility he wasn't?

I think this is close enough that most people are going to see what they want to see, myself included. I know that there must be better things we could be talking about.

To me it's frenchy's shit eatin' grin that gives it away. Obama played it cool like he was looking at the steps or helping the other young lady down the steps. Frenchy just said "Eff it, I'm staring at her ass, Oiu Oui".

It would be a non-issue if ABC didn't have to stand up and protect him...that was my point

Maybe it's a non-issue if ABC doesn't defend, but the picture by itself led the story and is everywhere today. Which is more ridiculous: a news outlet pushing the pic alone, or a news outlet "telling the rest of the story", Paul Harvey-style, by including the video?
I chalk it all up to a slow news day. But you're right about G8--I've got plenty of thoughts on that that are irrelevant here.

And I also don't think that Barack is dumb enough to be so blatantly checking a girl out in an extremely public situation. He knows cameras are always watching.

I'd hardly call this a flamewar--it was a respectful conversation. It isn't about the topic, it's about the participants.

May I also include: Whether Gisele is actually hot or not. Whether Tom Brady is a great QB or not. Whether Red Sox fans are all bandwagon jumpers or just clueless wannabe sports fans, etc.
