In Defense of Melo

I live in Denver. I know how hard it is to get a cab. Especially at 4 a.m.

But, then again, he makes a bajillion dollars, so he should pay a guy 40K a year just to drive him around. It would be worth it.

Come on. That's not how these rich young athletes roll. Please, pay someone $40,000/year to drive them around. They'd much rather wait until they get a DUI then spend a couple million to pay off the cop to not show up at trial. Then they just go home and do it all over again.

I for one will never understand this generation of spoiled guaranteed money ball players.

Carp, do you listen to 104.3? They had a caller this afternoon ask what makes a good coach in the NBA? The unanimous answer was players! They only care about their paychecks in this town. Only AI may differ, I haven't seen how much he wants a ring yet. I'll be watching the playoffs to see how much he wants a ring.

File under Paris, Hohan, and co. If you have enough money to afford a full-time driver then one DUI should land you in jail for a year.

I like that. The penalties should be worse if you make an obscene enough amount of money that you should have zero excuse to not have a full time driver.

You can't make a special set of laws because the affluent are stupid. If you made a DUI fine like 50K a year so that having a driver would be more cost effective, then it also has to apply to the every-man, who clearly couldn't afford such a price.

I understand your point. But DUI's are even more insulting when committed by someone that can have a full time driver.

Is that an "Entourage" raference (I haven't seen but one episode) or were you talking about the appearance of Bonzi Wells?

LOL Now, that was funny, Manny!
  • Yeah, I'm talking Entourage, but I suppose when talking about Bonzi it could have a double meaning.

Sounds like 6 hours of uncomfortable motionlessness bracketing 4 chuckles, one chortle and half a forced laugh.

Watching a TV show about guys trying to make movies is infinitely irritating to me...

And nudity is not a sales pitch. While you are extolling the wonderful attributes of nudity on my television, I could be having real nudity (and more) in my bedroom instead.

Sorry, dude. Nothing personal - enjoy it all you want! I learned long ago that fiction (whether in print or video) pales in comparison to the fiction I can close my eyes and imagine for free...

And unlike a TV, I can't turn my mind off - well, I can drink it asleep - so I guess it DOES have a price!

None of this answers the more important question - Where is Bonzi's shell???
