If I Were a Professional Journalist...
Today would have been one of the busiest days of my writing career.
But I'm not getting paid to write, so I can slack off when I feel like it and let the rest of the World finally learn what I've been trying to say for the last 18 months...
Anyway, I just got back from taking wifey and the kids camping as we often do in October. Thank you for the birthday wishes, champagne bottles, etc.
I am tired (from lugging camping supplies up and down the side of the Santa Catalina mountains at 7,500 ft elevation on Thursday and Friday), bruised (from sleeping on hard, pointy rocks), sunburned (we spent Saturday and Sunday camping with friends in the Sonoran Desert and it was a tad bit hotter than anticipated for this time of year) and bloated (from severe food and alcohol consumption - we chow when camping).
Yes, I personally believe my not being near a TV (and too far in the middle of nowhere for internet service) is the very reason the Rays lost games 5 and 6 and my return to home (and also to my lucky purple Rays hat) just in time yesterday for Game 7 was the reason they won Game 7.
Clearly, I am a good luck charm, it has been proven.
So fack it. I ain't writing shit today. Besides, my computer is suffering through issues and I can'ty navigate the internet very easily today. I'm going to relax, catch a few Arizona Fall league games this afternoon and recuperate and recover from a very much enjoyed yet vacation.
Don't congratulate me, congratulate the Rays...
After all, I didn't predict the Rays to win the World Series this year, I predicted them to win several World Series starting this year.
Three things to mull over -
1. How did that Delmon Young trade turn out anyway? If I wasn't so lazy, I'd have to remix "Beat of the Week"... Andrew Friedman for Executive of the Year!
2. How about that David Price, eh?
3. NOW the Rays are more dangerous than ever to the masses of mindless drone sports fans - the Rays now have "intangibles" and "experience"... where before they just had a shitload of talent and a desire to aggressively play fundamental baseball with solid defense, pitching depth, team speed and aggressive hitting.
Peace and Good Tidings, catch you later this week with some World Series hype - and despite my "connections" with both franchises... No, I'm not going to any games... =(
