I bet you didn't predict this...

Unbelievably shocking news today out of Phoenix, AZ.

Well, not as much shocking as it is mostly a waste of everyone's time. Brace yourself nonetheless - APL (ArmchairGM Prediction League) has folded. I repeat APL has gone defunct!

After gross mispreparation, two weeks of a fusterclucked preseason and almost one whole week of regular season action, the league has collapsed under it's own ballyhooment.

  • And it's not because I wasn't kicking all of your asses, either. In fact it's rather unfair having someone like me even in the league, let alone running it.

It was much too great of an undertaking for one very allergic-to-deadlines-and-timeframes writer to accomplish. I started it on a bored whim, people didn't catch on to the very simple instructions and it's clear I was going to grow even more bored with it very quickly. I'm too moody and have too much of a life to dedicate a regular time slot in my week specifically to direct my waning attention span to run a Prediction League. It is just overwhelming more and more apparent that I cannot write a weekly regular column unless it's a very irregular column.

  • Of course, one remedy would solve my irritable vowel syndrome - IF I was getting paid to do this - different story. I guess my motivation is Vitamin M.

I guess it was fun, next week we can say "Remember the APL?"

Maybe someday I'll do a Postcards From the Fringe 2... or that long-overdue cricket article.

I liked it, but I missed last week due to not seeing the article... If I saw it, I would have been quicker. I think this shows how much praise we should have for weekly writers, e.g. Christof, JB82, etc. For their dedication, as much as anything.
