I take offense to that comment considering the racial history of NASCAR.

Well since you bring it up JuT, Jamel is African-American. In several opinions here at the 'Chair, he was "annoying" and yes posted pics and was caught plagiarizing.

To take the comment at its absolute most literal context, the choices are either "no Jamels" implies either "no African Americans" or "no annoying cheating people".

I'm pretty sure that NASCAR contains annoying characters. As for the minority issue, its "track record" is equally notorious and deplorable.

Hence, my concern for the comment remains.

And BTW - why is a banned ex-member here continuously mentioned? Let it go....

I thought it was pretty clear that I meant the plagiarizing, annoying member of AGM. And as an "ex-member" he garners so much attention because he's still a member. I didn't mean to imply any sort of racism.

NASCAR isn't really struggling to find fans. What NASCAR really needs to do is have races closer to the major markets in the east. Chicago and LA have races nearby, but not New York.

i think they'll hit a saturation point faster than the 4 big guys (or is it three now?) Also, it suffers from the same issue as other individual sports (Golf, Tennis)....except those sports have some international flavor, which nascar (in all reality) does not...

F1 is the most popular motorsport in the world. Because India/China cares about it, and they do less so with F1. Europe also cares about F1, and it loaths NASCAR. F1 has only had 1 "figure of 8" track, and it was at Suzuka. But not a classic figure of 8, it was a genuine lap.

But soccer is the most popular sport in the world and it's dumb too!

I don't think anybody is saying NASCAR is more popular than baseball or football, just that it is popular.

China and India are huge influences on this. F1 I reckon would be on this list, Europe and Asia, South American like it. I reckon that it would be around the level of #6 on the list.

Basketball is popular in the US, China, Canada, and South America. I think it has more than 400m fans

Europe as well.
