Corey Patterson (3) Reds 9th Eric Gagne (2) Brewers 0 2

Mark Kotsay (1) Braves 6th Ubaldo Jimenez (1) Rockies 1 2

Travis Hafner (2) Indians 9th Justin Speier (2) Angels 1 2

Bengie Molina (2) Giants 2nd Randy Wolf (1) Padres 0 0
Bengie Molina (2) Giants 11th (GW) Cla Meredith (1) Padres 0 1

Mark Reynolds (Arizona Diamondbacks) hit his 5th home run yesterday, breaking the tie between Chris B. Young (Arizona Diamondbacks) and Torii Hunter (Los Angeles Angels) that they had two days ago in "Home Runs Hit".

Bronson Arroyo (Cincinnati Reds) still has the most "Home Runs Surrendered" (5).

  • So, what what the home run of the day yesterday? Was it Travis Hafner's 2 run homer against Justin Speier and the Angels that put the Indians up by 1 in the top of the 9th? Was it Bengie Molina's walk-off homer in the 11th inning that gave San Francisco their 2nd win of the season against the San Diego Padres? Maybe it was Corey Patterson's homer that tied the game against the Milwaukee Brewers; sure it was against Eric Gagne, but still...

Again, feel free to discuss.

  • Also, I was wondering if we had a little something like SSreporters had with the voting for the caption of the day for the caption contest, except it's going to be entitled the "Home Run of the Day".

Yeah, it usually is the walk-off that wins it. There definitely were a lot of great homers though. The walk-offs are always talked about, but many are overlooked. For example, Frank Thomas' 2 run homer in the 8th tied the game.
