High School Sports Section???

Posted by Behbigben15

I remember a couple months ago, someone came up with the idea of adding a High School sports section, and everybody dumped the idea right away, because they say it was "too much work" or some lame excuse like that. But, I like the idea of adding a HS sports section. How 'bout it?

I think it would be pretty simple, divide it by Sports, and you can add your HS, the HS you graduated from, or even a nearby high school. It doesn't have to be this great big project, just if you hear, or read about a game in the local paper add the score, stats, and if you want write a recap (if you attended the game). I think it would be interesting to read about other High Schools, and I think the Users on here would make it alot more interesting to read than ESPN, or SI.

Hey, you can even add Colleges on there (smaller, or private Colleges). Just a thought I had. Many of you guys are trying to make this site grow, and I think this is a very good way to expand the site. Who knows, we could win an award for "best High School Sports coverage" in the future. Wouldn't that be cool.

So, think about it, and if you think it's a good idea, then maybe we can get it setup. Oh, and sorry for the run-on sentences:)

Thanks

Ben

While it is a nice idea Ben, it really is too much work. Too many schools, with too many levels, and way too many sports. The workload here at AGM is already more than the collective "we" can currently handle. And it isn't like HS sports are non-exsistant here, they get talked about around signing day for CFB and CBB.

Oh, and about Kuwait, sports isn't really a big issue. No one keeps track of stats, and the only thing they pay attention to is who actually won the championship game in the end. Sadly, there are no recruits here, and there isn't much talent either. I wish there was. Maybe I could actually talk good about Kuwait for once if there was.

No. The reasons have been listed and repeated. If you like, write something on your teams, but there is enough to do maintaining what we already have without expanding the realm further. Personally, I'm against giving national exposure to HS athletes anyway. With national exposure comes big money. With big money comes corruption.

You picked that plant too early, SSR. Wait till it cones out more and gets the leaf count down to 5 or better yet, 3 - And I'd be wary of a bud growing out of a leaf - though it's probably just set on there for show - that's not supposed to happen! And as Indica as that leaf is, you're gonna get more sleepy than "high". Plus, you see how the tips are browned or "burned"? Lay off the store bought fertilizers, man - it makes it taste like shit.

It wasn't illegal until William Randolph Hurst sent a few giant kickbacks to Congress so he could make more money off of turning forests in Northern Cali into paper. Even though wood pulp fiber costs more, is more damaging and polluting to the environment and wood pulp paper doesn't have anywhere near the strength or durability of hemp paper (which the Dec of Independence AND the Constitution were both written on - and still lasting strong).

He used fear and propaganda to get a commodity he couldn't control out of competition with his business. My 103 year old Grandmom has told stories about how it grew "like a weed" all over the place and that the cows on the farm she grew up on LOVED it.

If people had any idea about the truth of things, weed would be legal and alcohol would be banned. But there's too much money that would be lost if that happened.

There is also a kid my age who's dad "supposedly" backed up Rich Gannon. I looked up his name, and couldn't find him, I have a feeling that he backed him up in College. But, his son is a freshman, and is BY FAR the best basketball player in the school. He will also probably be the Varsity Football's starting QB next year. Well, for a while I was a 3-sport athlete (Football, Baseball, Basketball). But, now I'm just playing Baseball due to a knee injury I suffered last year, and we don't really do much weightlifting. We probably should, though. For Football they have Winter, spring, and Summer workouts, so most of the football players are lifting 3/4 of the year, and playing 1/4 of the year.

Am I the only one who went to a school that sucked at sports? I think our basketball team won under 10 games combined in the four years I was there. Our football team probably around the same amount, and what's worse is we had to watch our rivals win state with an undefeated record one year. Our soccer team, however, went to state both my junior and senior year, and won it the year after I graduated. Woohoo...
