Here's an Idea

How about using the "modern technology" of user boards? Since arguments are between individuals, you can hash things out on each other's boards.

Irregardless of intelligent and passionate Manny, when someone says repeatedly that they are done with a topic, then have more posts on the topic after that fact then the Bengals have had players in trouble with the law, it kills their credibility. Then when you look at just ONE side of a situation instead of going after both parties, it makes you look foolish. Both of these things took place here.

I have to disagree here. I got caught in the middle of this thing because I defended TB's rights. Tylersalt specifically said that after readign what I wrote, he was backing down from his threat/desire to build a consensus to ban TB. Yet, because TB was so affronted that someone was insulted by what he said, he made it his mission to lambast anyone who dared disagree with him about anything.

Thus, I was left in a wierd position. I was being mocked, lambasted, insulted, harrassed and had bagels thrown at me just to make sure I understood that Jews could be insulted as easily as gays. All of this because my views on free speech led me to speak out in opposition of TB being banned for his use of the word "Homo."

The thing is, I am not backing down. I am still getting bagels thrown at me today, but it doesn't matter. I know that sticking up for TB's rights, no matter how unworthy he was of my protection, was the right thing to do.

Calling people foolish is foolish.

I haven't read a word of this squabble and I don't care to. But I know enough about both of these guys to figure it out.

Maybe, just maybe what is painful to you is fun to others. What some people see as "getting worked up" is another person doing what they do best... it's a funking sportswiki website, what will be solved in ANY matter discussed here?

Point is: Is there always a better way to do things? Sure. But does that mean that it doesn't work the way it's being done? Results are results and a week from now you'll all be bitching about something else...

Piling onto a subject you supposedly are "sick about" is true foolishness. These guys aren't trolls - they are egos bumping into each other in the dark electtronic medium. It will sort itself out without anyone's help...
