Grade Spring Silliness 2008

Thought we'd have a fun little discussion on how everyone thinks about this year's Spring Silliness tournament. How about grading the following things (on an A-F scale), leading to an overall mark?

Upsets

Gus Johnson

Thrilling Finishes

Watchability (In other words, are the games watchable)

Cinderella Factor

Overall

What? You want to know mine? Well okay....

Upsets: C

Nothing special outside of the two 4 vs. 13 seed upsets in Siena and San Diego, and Davidson. If it wasn't for Davidson we'd have an F.

Gus Johnson: B-

Hard to give him anything higher. It's sad because the one exciting game he gets, is his last one of the tournament in Kansas vs. Davidson. I need Gus to be excited.

Thrilling Finishes: B

I'll give you the top 5 games of this tournament:

5. Duke vs. Belmont (71-70)

4. Stanford vs. Marquette (82-81 OT)

3. San Diego vs. UConn (70-69 OT)

2. Tennessee vs. Butler (81-77 OT I think was the score)

1. Western Kentucky vs. Drake (101-99 OT)

Watchability: D

The tournament lost any "watchability" after the 2nd round.

Cinderella Factor: D

Davidson, that's it.

Overall: C-

Another year, another tournament that had the potential to be great, but turned out to have the favorites dominating, and no close games after round 2.

Along with the ones you mentioned then ond of Davidson and Kansas game was great (nervracking!) In my opinion the Duke vs Belmont game was best finish next to W. Kentucky and Drake.

Watchability C+
I actually thought this tournament was great fun to watch. From Curry blowing up onto the national scene, Davidson's great run, 15 seed Belmont coming so CLOSE, the Davidson vs Kansas game was great to watch, I loved watching the Hansbrough's get blown away by Kansas. Doesn't reech that B level though because like you said SSR, hard to watch past 2nd round, but I am a Kansas fan and I am loving their run so gotta give higher than D

Hey Davidson getting so close def deserves higher than a D! They get to final four its maybe an A, but remember Davidson was a pretty good team, def higher than a ten seed so no B.

Overall B
Like I said before this was fun for me to watch because of the Kansas run. It'll drop to F if Kansas loses, lol.
