The NFL free agency period will begin in around five hours, so it's time for everyone to give their input on where guys will be landing. Following is a list of the top free agents this offseason. Feel free to list the possible teams that could land guys on this long list, and add a player or two if you must.

  • Ray Lewis
  • Bart Scott
  • T.J. Houshmandzadeh
  • Albert Haynesworth
  • Kurt Warner
  • Derrick Ward
  • Fred Taylor
  • Jeff Saturday
  • Kerry Collins
  • Brian Dawkins
  • Marvin Harrison
  • Laveranues Coles
  • Matt Birk
  • Nate Washington
  • Derrick Brooks
  • Warrick Dunn
  • Keith Brooking
  • Stacy Andrews

etc, etc, etc.

Personally, I think Haynesworth is highly overrated and guys like Derrick Brooks and Keith Brooking should be signed before Haynesworth. But, that's not gonna happen. Coles and Houshmandzadeh will be signed before Harrison, and Nate Washington shouldn't be overlooked (he can become very valuable as a third or fourth wideout for several teams).

Lewis is, by far, in my opinion, the top free agent this year, and I don't believe he will return to Baltimore, he's asking for too much money. I think it's time for Baltimore and Lewis to move on.

Fred Taylor, once again, will be overlooked. But, teams will be sorry they overlooked him once he breaks out for 600-700 yards and 5 TD's as a third-down back next season.

Warner and Collins will return to their '08 teams, Arizona and Tennessee respectively.

Your right Hayensworth is overrated because he plays his best in contract years. However, Brooks is old and frankly over the hill. At this point in his career his is a 2 down back, and he is not a true middle linebacker in the cover 2. With the majority of the league switching to 3-4 schemes Brooks is just not needed anymore. It hurts to say that but thats the way of the NFL

Taylor doesn't appeared to be overlooked...it seems he's already signed with the Pats

As in most cases the teams with the worst defense tend to throw money at the big name free agents so i wouldnt be surprised to see Haynesworth be overpaid on a Kansas City or a Seattle...I think Lewis goes to a contender, a Dallas or even here to New England we love the old schoolers, speaking of old schoolers Collins ans Warner are r in too good of shape o leave their repspecitve teams where they wont match last season a la Jeff Garcia

You forgot to put Chris Canty on this list. Big strong D End just got released by Dallas, because they are too deep at the position. He could become a stud for someone

I'm hearing that the Eagles are making a trade offer to send Reggie Brown and a draft pick to the Rams for Torry Holt.

Holt's 3 years younger and has produced 80+ catch seasons every year since 2002 except last year (60 catches)

That being said, it wasn't like Mark Bulgar was lighting it up...

More importantly, they drop Reggie Brown's contract which is a 5.5mil cap hit if they cut him...and that means they get a new WR (as you say, equal, though I believe more useful than harrison...but let's say equal for argument's sake) and still have one roster spot left to draft someone as well...I assume Greg Lewis gets cut...he's a bum...

Fair enough I can go along with that argument. Not really sure how much Holt has left in the tank, but you're right the STL Oline was so bad that Bulger never had time in the pocket. Cap room is not a problem for the Eagles, they are 34 million under last I saw. I mean getting rid of Brown is nice, but all the cap room in the world doesn't do a bit of good if they don't spend it.

The Ravens just lost a ton of players.

Ray Lewis is going somewhere else, Bart Scott has signed with the Jets, their center Jason Brown is likely headed for the Rams, and they cut Chris McAllister.

Oh yeah, Seattle better go after Jim Leonhard......because Brian Russell is replaceable.

I'm happy with Taylor. Hopefully he and Maroney benefit mutually from split carries, sort of like another guy who wore the #28 on the Pats.

yeah the pats also landed Chris Baker, the former Jets TE earlier today. Taylor is a pretty sweet signing, i expect him to be a big help next year.

And if we needed further proof that that brad childress has his head suck up ass, I present to you the future starting QB of the Minnesota Vikings:

finally a tight end who can catch and be popped over the middle, IE: Ben Watson who made prbabley the most athletic play in my viewing of the nfl when he chased champ bailey down from behind. its good to hustle but you need to catch and hold the ball at his postion
