E:60 is my new favorite ESPN show

I think it's a pretty good show. In case you haven't seen it before, sports reporters go behind the scenes, and share stories that have not been told publicly before (I don't think they have, anyway). It's on right now on ESPN, as well as every other Tuesday at 7 P.M. (ET).

yeah, i've watched it about 3 times and here are a few of my thoughts?

1) in the opening credits, they highlight the "E" in each person's name...rachel Nichols, Jeremy Schaap, etc...does this mean I could never be on that show?

2) Why does Rachel Nichols talk...she has no clue what she is talking about (pretty much ever) and simply regurgitates quotes during sportcenter...I fail to understand her value...for god's sake Erin Andrew's has 2 "e"s and is hotter

3) Do I really need to know the behind the scenes thoughts...I barely like outside the lines and these human interest stories as is...especially ones about soccer...

I mean, with respect to today's first issue about the Senegali soccer players in Portugal..."Is the government of Portugal looking into this and what are they doing?" - did you really just ask that...like Farrey's response...does the gov't really give a crap

4) Really this show is nothing more than a collection or stories that hit sunday sporscenter's cutting room floor and now serves as a way for ESPN to stroke its proverbial ego...

I agree with #2. And, it may not be the best show, but it sure beats the hell out of watching shows like PTI, and Jim Rome is Burning.

It's a show all about mostly useless reporters feeling like they do something important and signficant in their profession. That and ESPN isn't running a Playmakers or TILT series this fall so they had to do something.

Sports Reporters has been on forever and has always been good. Granted its loud/daily/annoying knock-offs blow (1st take, around the horn, etc) but these guys are intelligent and have something useful to bring to the conversation. I like PTI, it's 2 guys just doing what they do on the phone or via email, but htey do it in person (usually) and on camera.

they've reached the point where, besides sporting events, they don't really have much to broadcast...

I mean, sportscenter gets airtimes from about 6-7 (or 8) and then essentially 11-2am (including baseball tonight, NFL primetime, etc) and then from about 5am to 1pm...they gotta fill in the gaps with something...

Besides ESPNews is 24 hr sportscenter anyways...

I don't blame them for trying...sometimes we're too critical...but sometimes you gotta wonder where it comes from...

Maybe she's got some banging MILF body that we are unaware of? Just giving your buddy the benfit.

One intresting thing E: 60 touched on not todays but in another show was about bull riding i had herd of it prior but, really thiught it was stupid and not a sport. It turns out young men in spain go to mexico illegally to strat at the age of 12. they had one boy who had gotten nailed by the bulls horns and need serious surgey near his heart i think. he was ok and then went in the ring agin only to win but break a few ribs. Another thing i noticed was each time they have one really intresting story. It is usually about a sport people have not cared for in USA much or somthing schoking you would have never believed happened. On tonights episode it was about the illegal transports of african soccer stars at young ages to poutugal and other European countrys. Ine boy was left their at age 12 and was unbable to play becasue the scout that discoved hoim did not have his visa to go out of his home land. He has been straned their ever since. Thats all pretty good show for ESPN standards

My question on the two stories of kids illegaling going to other countries to advance their dreams: Were these simply reports, or was there any motive or agenda that the reporter pushes in the piece, like "this is horrible and the US must move to stop this." Because I approve of reporting on these things, I disaprove of reporters imposing their values or morals on a story.

E:60 is ok. It is basically, as Mylf said last night, an hour of those Chris Connelly (sp!) stories. Better than uch of what they've done, but they need to show more live sports. They used to show all sorts of crazy shit, they need more of that! More Scrabble championships! More Pool! More rugby! More Aussie Rules Football! More real sports! Less talking about the three team sports (nfl, mlb, nba) and the three individual sports (nascar, tennis, golf).
