Double Standard

I feel that there is a huge double standard when it comes to performance enhancing drugs. In the NFL players are caught serve their suspension (Merriman, Rodney Harrison), and go about their careers and receive accolades along the way. In the MLB people who have not even tested positive are heavily scruntinized and their reputations tarnished. I don't feel this is fair and am looking for any ideas on why there seems to be so much stigma surrounding drug use in baseball, but in the NFL there is little talk.

I think the answer is records.For some reason baseball records are in higher regard.Everybody wants them to be aquired honestly.Nobody gives a crap about football records, just who wins the Super bowl.Only the most avid fan knows the amount of yards the record holder has being it season or career.Even the average fan knows how many home-runs Roger maris [ the real leader] has.
