Umm... everything? I'm not rooting for a rival, ever. I'll root for other teams in the division sometimes, but I feel no loyalty to the American League as a Sox fan.

I grew up in Connecticut in a Red Sox household. How I ended up a Yankee fan is a long and unnecessary story, suffice it to say though I am partial to the American League. I have no problem rooting for the Red Sox, or even admitting it for that matter. When they win, I will pick up the phone and call my 75 year old die hard Red Sox fan dad back home and share in his joy. If anyone has issues with that, or doesn't understand, then I question whether or not you're a sports fan. When the bandwagon stops, do us all a favor and get the hell off.

KD, my wife is the opposite. She wants whoever beats "her team" to lose instead of win. She doesn't care about the "we lost to the eventual champs" garbage, she wants vengeance! "If 'we' can't win, neither can they, those bastards!"

I think she might have wanted the Rockies to crash their plane on the way to Boston she's still so mad the D-Backs lost! You DON'T want to hear what she wants done to the Spurs...

Lesson: Fear the Wrath of the Woman Scorned!!! (Yes, I do sleep with one eye open often)

I root for the best story possible every time and don't REALLY care who wins the World Series; My level of caring isn't going to change anything - Either way, I can say "the Rays beat them this year".
