I whole heartedly agree, especially with the war part. There are far more important things the government could be investigating and although it could do some good in regards to younger kids and steroids, they are definitely overstepping their bounds here. Same with the SpyGate thing -- Goodell is being interviewed by that guy from Philadelphia. I could see this steroids hearing, but why does the government care if the Patriots cheated?

Agreed. Roger Clemens gained nothing from today's hearing other than providing federal prosecutors more statements under oath to pour over in hope of finding contradictory testimony. If the Clemens legal think tank was hoping for a public outcry of support, I don't think today's activities achieved that agenda.

What about those needles and gauz pads if those come back with traces of steroids and clemens blood?

You must be watching an entirely different Congressional hearing from the one I just saw. The Chairperson (Waxman) for this Congressional Hearing ON THE RECORD APOLOGIZED to Brian McNamee for the conduct of SOME of his Congressional colleagues.

It is really a moot point as there is no chance in hell that McNamee's alledged "evidence" would even be permitted to enter a criminal trial proceeding. What was most damaging to Clemens was the apparent collaborative testimonies supporting McNamee were supplied by Knoblauch and Pettitte during their depositions.

The grandstanding by some of those Congress members on the panel was absurd. I'm guessing half of them whacked off to Godfather II last night.

And as the person being in charge of those proceedings, Waxman was clearly bothered by that type of conduct to the point of apologizing to Brian McNamee.

Remember that this hearing TODAY was only held because of Roger Clemens - not Brian McNamee.
