Commence Kimbo Slice's Fade Into Obscurity! Kimbo Gets Knocked Out in Weird Way

Posted by SSreporters

I watched this fight online and pretended that one of these fighters was Tyrone Willingham, and Kimbo Slice can now calmly fade into a simple trivia question on Jeopardy.

Seth Petruzelli was a replacement for Ken Shamrock to fight the Bahamian Behemoth, and blasted Kimbo in 14 seconds.

Quite interesting, it looked like a jab sent Kimbo to the ground (Kimbo attacked first and got kneed) and then Petruzelli caught him off-guard and knocked him out with strikes. Looked like it caught him by surprise and that was it.

I'm going to catch the replay tonight (thanks CBS), but it looked eerily fixed. Nonetheless, we can officially put this Kimbo Slice debate to bed, and most importantly, CBS can stop with EliteXC, which is just WWE but a little more real.

UPDATE: Video!

MMA needs some faces, badly. It is right there in terms of becoming mainstream, it just needs a top flight rivalry that it cash in on. Kimbo was never going to be someone you could build a sport around. He's a great story, but not someone that was ever going to become a legend.

But Phelps will get 15 more minutes in 3 3/4 years (and again when the next "greatest ever" breaks his records)...

What happened to Shamrock...his nursing home wouldn't give him a day pass? The whole sport's a joke, Kimbo's just a small Slice of it.

Kimbo has been handled as a circus attraction to Gary Shaw and his d-bag son. Under normal circumstances, Kimbo doesn't get a replacement on that short of notice. But because he's Elite XC's last hope, Kimbo had to go on. I'm disgusted by Gary Shaw's antics. Pro Elite is $55 million in debt, things don't look very good. Showtime might bail them out, but who knows at this point.

Thing is, anyone see the time and think it was more 10 or 11 seconds and time keepers just suck balls?
