I sent that article out to several magazines and various contacts that accept freelance writing in hopes of getting it picked up and not only did I not get turned down, I didn't even get turned down! I mean, I didn't get ANY responses!

No "not what we're looking for"s, no "it could use a re-write"s, not even a "you suck"...

But that article was a joy to write and honestly one of the easiest articles I've ever written. Besides, winning an AGM Article of the Year award means way more than any monetary compensation could...

ok, I've seriously rubbed every lamp I've noticed in the past two months...

And I thought the live blog from Tampa was the best one all year. It's easy to sit in your living room with a laptop and blah blah blah all night about a game, but there's just something about being there, you know?

It was pretty hard to do with everyone that was there in the pressbox - The Yankees were in town, ESPN was doing the game, all the douchebags were going gaga over Erin Andrews' pressbox hotness, Igawa was pitching, A-Rod was on his historic/typical Arpil tear and it was H Matsui's first game back from injury - so there was at least 3 Japanese reporter for every American. Plus I had the Tampa 10 camera in my grill - who am I kidding, it was a facking BLAST! (but the Japanese dude sitting next to me SERIOUSLY needed to learn about an invention in America we call "deodorant")

I didn't try Baseball America. I didn't really try hard at all. I'm still new at this writing for other people's enjoyment thing and honestly my confidence sucks - humongous ego notwithstanding. And while I have no qualms with the creative side the business side and hard work aspects are very boring to me! For a few months now, I have had a list of literary agents I want to contact and send samples to, but I need an agent/editor of some kind, preferably someone who can draw like Ralph Steadman.

Without someone poking me with money, I'm very lazy!

Considering where I was a year ago, my curve of progression has been the difference between a very off-the-table 12-6 curve compared to a Brian Stokes hanger that comes pre-assembled and includes your choise of in flight movie. So I'll take that achievement and start working on my slider...
