Code of Conduct Amendment Proposal
Since I've recently been promoted to Bureaucrat (whatever that means) here's some bureaucracy for you:
The Articles portion of the CoC does not forbid SPAM. Can you believe that?
Articles: Articles are the basis of the Armchair GM community. They are the place where users can express their ideas, voice opinions and show their wit and knowledge on any variety of sports and sports related topics.
- Articles should be original content created by an AGM user.
- Articles should contain proper citations if an outside source is referenced.
- ArmchairGM's ToS allows for members 13 years of age and older, therefore, if you would not want your 13 year old child, sibling, cousin or related person seeing what you wrote, than do not write it
- While most users on Armchair GM are amateur writers, articles should be written with the user's own level of professionalism
- Articles should be sports related; they are not a platform to attack other users or Armchair GM as a web site.
- Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Any potentially plagiarized article should be noted by a user, referenced by an administrator and deleted. The plagiarizing user will then be subject to suspension and repeated offenses will result in an infinite ban.
The Comments section does though:
...Comments related to spamming, advertising or illicit in nature will not be tolerated...
Therefore I want to amend the Articles portion of the CoC to include the following statement.
- Articles containing spamming, advertising, or illicit in nature will not be tolerated.
I know this seems rather silly because we have a long time understanding that spam, etc. is forbidden, but I'm a believer in crossed t's and dotted i's. If we're going to use the CoC, let's have it say what we want.
By the way, in order to alter the CoC, we need to comply with the following from the CoC: "...The Code of Conduct may be revisited at any time when deemed necessary by at least one user and agreed upon by at least the majority of current users available on any given day. From there, users will edit the document in a fashion similar to its creation, with changed being proposed and subsequently agreeing upon a final document. "
If you agree, I'll amend it later today.
Thanks.
