Celtics Trade For Allen: Then and Now

I was doing a google search on Ray Allen and stumbled upon this old Armchairgm article about how bad of a move the Celtics getting Ray Allen was . . .

Now did Kevin Garnett make this a smart move, or did Allen and co. prove you wrong? So you know, had I been on here, I probably would have said the same thing you all did.

For me I saw the Allen deal opening up the door for the Garnett deal to happen. Danny Ainge is like a crazy day trader who got lucky. I'll take it as a C's fan, but still he got lucky.

I was watching the draft at a friends house and when I heard this deal, I yelled a profanity at Danny Ainge, woke up the friend's mom and got kicked out of the house. Looking back, I regret that decision.

Anyway, I think without KG, this would've been another classic shitty Ainge move, but it's seems to be working out, especially with Rondo and Perkins starting to click as well. We all knew the big 3 was going to produce, but actually having role players get something done has been the nicest surprise. You know Allen is going to get hurt at some point this season, and if they can still win games when that happens, you know this team is for real.
