Can We Change the Main Page Please?

There's got to be some way to remove 2008 Hottest Female Athlete Tournament - First Round Voting (Region 4) from the top of the Main Page. Not that I'm against Natalie Coughlin (although I'd like to be). But it's time for a new featured article to be the face of this site.

I know it takes X amount of votes for a replacement to automatically take the spot, but isn't there some way to make that happen without an article getting 30 votes?

I thought they gave us a guy who was supposed to be able to handle things like this. This is what happens when you let new people in, the whole thing just gets thrown out the window.

Can't there just be an expiration on the top articles. Maybe three days at the top of the page and then it expires.

Exactly. I seem to recall that in order to be the featured article, all it needed was a picture and 10 votes. There have been several art5icles that meet that criteria yet nothing is changing.

Either my memory is faulty (likely) or something is wrong with the code (also likely).
