Breaking News: Griffey waives no-trade, heads to Chicago

Ken Griffey Jr. this morning officially agreed to waive his no-trade clause and will return to the American League with the Chicago White Sox. The Sox will give up two minor leaguers, righthanded pitcher Nick Masset and second baseman Danny Richar.

MLB.com is saying Griffey will play CF with Swisher moving to the bench, with Swisher also taking some of Konerko's starts at first base.

Kelsdad: Consider this information both priveledged and confidential. Ken Griffey Jr. will be traded to Seattle before the deadline. Teams have already agreed on a deal and Griffey will be fairly compensated for waiving his no trade.
