Nah, I think he'll be better in Year 2 -- that seems to be the way these things work out. And if not, we'll probably just dump him off on the Yankees, so it's win-win. :)

John Farrell has done extremely well with the pitching staff. You're right Davis. Why would he go to Pittsburgh? I know there was a rumor about it, but I'd like to know why.

Buck and McCarver were just talking about how he was being mentioned as the leading candidate to fill the Pirates' managerial void, and that he'd meet with the team after the season. I'm not sure how true that is, but I'd heard rumors too (Torey Lovullo is also said to be in the mix). He's a great teacher, a great communicator, so it's no surprise that he'd be considered manager material. Pittsburgh needs a manager, but I hope Farrell sticks around for a few more years. In just one year on the job, he really helped our staff.
