BREAKING NEWS: Rich Harden a Cub!

I have a feeling that the A's are really going to benefit from this trade. Matt Murton has a LOT of potential and can really make it if someone gives him a chance. The Cubs don't feel like they need him anymore with Edmonds, Soriano, Reed Johnson, Fukudome, and Mark DeRosa all on the ChiCubs team. However, the A's desperately need an outfielder.

Who do they have? Ryan Sweeney, Jack Cust, Travis Buck, Carlos Gonzalez, Emil Brown, Rajai Davis... see what I mean?

The outfielder who has been most successful this season is Ryan Sweeney, I think. Having a starting outfielder with a .224 batting average on a possible playoff contending team is just unacceptable.

So, I think the A's got a good trade out of this. Murton is go to pass this test of being a reliable member of an offence that needs some work with flying colors.

With the way Billy Beane is managing this team (well, generally), I wouldn't be surprised. However, a lot can happen in 1 or 2 years.

nothing like being one and done in the playoffs for a few years...hey, at least it sells tickets...
