I bet Lebron is happy to have him.

...That is, IF he plays like he did when he was with Detroit.

Hope Cleveland enjoys paying that fat contract for Wallace to sleep on the court.

I'm glad that Detroit didn't outbid Chicago in tryin to bring back Wallace. I'm questioning whether or not he has the ability to help the Cavs win a title. He's just a defensive player to me.

1FD, when Detroit made the move to let him go, I told people that he went from under-rated and underpaid to over-rated and overpaid.

I think this is a good move for Cleveland. Wallace doesn't bring any offense to the table, but Gooden couldn't play defense, so I consider that an upgrade. Plus they get a solid point guard in Delonte West who will play solid defense (especially on Rajon Rondo). Not to mention Sczerbiak is still a solid swingman. Hughes was unreliable anyway, so I don't think that loss hurts too much. This makes Cleveland a scary team for my C's in the playoffs.

Guess you haven't watched many Bulls games this season. FYI - Ben Wallace ain't doing much on D either. In fact he could pass himself off as the NBA's posterboy and official spokesman for Ambien.

He isn't any worse than Gooden, who was very unreliable on offense and was really bad on defense. Plus they dump Hughes, get a good swingman and a solid point guard. The Cavs made themselves better.

How much more time does Wallace have on his contract? If its more than two years, I do not see how this is a good move for Cleveland.

LeBron's thoughts: I need some help on OFFENSE... not defense. It's all good though... This was ok trade, I guess...

Yeah, I guess so. Ben Wallace's stats are really falling. $15,500,000 this year, for what? 5 points/8 rebounds/1.6 blocks a game. What else? He's not worth double digit mills IMO.

I see how this is a good move for cleveland...

When's LeBron's contract over, 2009?

If they don't satisfy him soon, he's leaving no matter what. If they suceed, good for everyone, if they don't they can at least appeal to him because they tried and now they're living under that burgeoning contract...

Smart move...plus they did manage to dump Hughes...

Now, about the PG...

no...but someone like Andre Miller is more available...they don't need an all-star, but someone who can contribute...

I know Dallas Maverick who should be available and very pissed because of the Kidd Trade...

Jose Juan Barea, is an excellent passer and capable of scoring when needed...his ability to cut certainly meets the Cavs needs...I watch JJB play for 3 years at NU...the kid is a gritty PG...and I think would be a nice piece for cleveland...

Hair comes burly Big Ben to beef up Bulls

October 12, 2006 BY JAY MARIOTTI Sun-Times Columnist Cornrows or the 'Fro? That's what we need to know, bro. A windy chill always whips off West Madison Street as winter nears, but Ben Wallace has brought $60 million worth of warmth and absurdly overdue championship hope, comforting us with his rebounds and his blocks and his 3.8-percent body fat and, of course, the way he wears his hair. Wednesday night in his United Center debut, for those braiding at home, Ben trotted out the cornrows. I was looking forward to the 'Fro, which can take on the shape of a dented popcorn bag fresh out of a microwave or a cat electrocuted by a live wire, but Wallace apparently saves his big puff for regular-season home games. This intimidating concept was known in Detroit as Fearing the 'Fro, which sure beats waiting for Tyson Chandler to catch the ball with two hands and muscle a point guard out of the lane.

He's a man, Kirk Hinrich said.

A legitimate savior, too, I dare say.

Bulls' victory a mixed bag For the first time since -- whoa, would you believe, Bill Cartwright? -- the Bulls finally are truthful in their advertising. THE MAN ... IN THE MIDDLE, intoned public-address announcer Tommy Edwards, FROM VIRGINIA UNION ... NO. 3 ... BEN WALLACE! At once, the small but excited crowd stood and greeted Wallace like he was Mick Jagger at Soldier Field, gazing at his massive arms and cut physique and realizing they weren't watching Jared Reiner or Dalibor Bagaric anymore.

This is not a good move by Cleveland. The Wallace contract is going to eat up a ton of cap space and keep them from picking up talent in the future. As far as the other players they picked up, none of them are significant upgrades from the current talent that is on their roster.
