Anyone think there are TOO many articles submitted?
My question is just that- do you think too many articles get submitted each day and it spreads us thin?? For example on the same day there was probably 8 or more Vick and dog articles- no real discussion occured as a brand new article would be seen on the home page and the one with all the comments was lost- people started with scratch and I didn't want to repeat myself so I left-
There are also some great articles with no comments- however since so many get submitted they get lost easily- like submitting an article in the morning- by 10:00 am no one will ever see it
I'm not sure how to fix this but am I the only one who kind of sees this?

I think it's the writer's responsibility to make their article more readable than everyone else's. If I'm writing the 10th Mike Vick article, I better make damn sure I bring something fresh to the table.
Articles that say "What Vick did is bad. What do you guys think?" are the only ones I can do without.
As far as a readers' choice, I think it's a great idea, but it's rare to see articles get over 20 votes unless it's about the Red Sox or something (ever notice you never see the Sox fans around until an article is written about how great they are and they all come out of the woodwork and say "GO SOX!" and nothing else).
I like the idea though, keep the articles with the most votes in the past week on the front page i.e. the top rated comments.
