An All-Star WTF Moment

So I am sitting here on this hot summer day filling out my All-Star ballot. As I go to fill out the ballot, I realize some names are missing. Unless I am just so far off base, Milton Bradley and Carlos Quentin remain off the list. Am I just missing the names or did the league decide to simply not update the ballots?

The ballots are created in April... because that's how baseball does things. Did you check off Willy Aybar for your AL 3B? (for instance)

Well, the league needs to update them as the season moves along. And yes I did...

You realize we are talking about MAJOR LEAGUE baseball, the same major league baseball that has a commissioner named "Bud"...

You can write in Evan Longoria, you know?

The teams submit the names of their players to be on the ballot, league has nothing to do with it.

But you know once MLB gets those names, there's no looking back.

Not trades, not injuries, not unconditional releases I bet a player could die and MLB would dare make a change to the ballot.

For instance: some samples from the ballot

F. Thomas, TOR

J. Edmonds, SD

T. Tulowitzki, COL

D. Ortmeier, SF

Why would you defend MLB?

it is still the best sport, even if they never update anything

true. But they should still wait until at least the middle of May before voting begins. A month and a half is PLENTY of time for people to stuff ballots.

I would argue with that...NFL is much more interesting, intriguing, fast paced, fun, good, well run... Plus, een though they kill detractors, they have a history of not hiring STUPID F*CKING COMMISSIONERS!!!

Carlos Beltran gets elected to start as a Royal, gets traded to Houston, and ends up on the National League team.

That's a fun one - still not as fun as Willie McGee winning the NL batting title when he was on the A's, but that's not all-star related...

Milton Bradley is on the list. Quentin isn't.
