Admit it, the Pats Have Been Found Out

Everyone has found a solution to beating New England, you can say Tom Brady is god, but he was hassled, did not play very well, no way they won that game....this is twice New England did not win, the other team lost. I believe the Steelers will beat New England.

Sure you can say that the Ravens blew the game, so then, what does that mean? The only way to beat the Pats is to not make mistakes? That's obvious, but no football team is going to play a mistake free game.

You blow out the 6-6 Bills, blew out the Jets, Dolphins, Redskins, Bengals, and Browns. Save for Cleveland, every one of them has a losing record. They had to pull away late at Dallas, rallied against an injury plagued Indy team, rallied against a 5-7 Philly team, and were stupid decisions away from losing to the 4-8 Ravens. Notice a pattern here?

Watch, the patriots will squeak out wins against the Steelers and the Jets, and then get blown out by the Dolphins....probably not, but wouldn't it be incredibly strange to have an undefeated team lose to a winless team at that point in the season?

The Patriots didn't win that game? Then who did?

The Patriots played like crap (7 dropped passes including two in the end zone) and still won.

The "blueprint" to beat the Patriots is the same basic gameplan any team should have against any other team: pressure the QB, protect your own QB, throw passes to the open man, run the ball consistently, cover their receivers, stop their rush.

I'm looking at the standings, and I see 12 games played, 12 games won. I'll keep looking for these games that New England didn't win, but don't get your hopes up.

Yeah, Brady even said that the defense he saw last night was they same thing he's been getting all year; the cover 2 with a lot of blitzes. It's not like the Eagles unlocked some sort of secret "destruct" button, like on the Death Star.

SSR, I've seen a lot of teams collapse or struggle at the end of the game. But the other team still doesn't "make them pay." So the Patriots, by making an opponent pay for mistakes, didn't actually win? Well, what is it when Eli Manning throws interceptions? Is that the Giants losing, not the Vikings winning? How about when the Pats blew a 21-3 lead against Indy last year? Did Indy not win that game?

Yes the blueprint exists but who can play at that level needed for 60 minutes? Surely you don't think it will the team that lost to the Jets, and nearly lost to Miami? (steelers) 2 mediocre teams had the Pats beat, but could not land the killing blow and paid the price. Someday you haters will realize how special this team is, I just hope it's before 2021.

No one wants to see the pats go undefeated for 2 basic reasons...

1) No one ever wants to see another NFL team, besides their own, go undefeated...think Indy or Denver recently...

2) people are growing to hate New England...y'all are a bunch of pompous prick douchebags...; - )

Again, forget the Uniforms for a second, forget the fans. If you enjoy football then accept that something special is happening here and enjoy it. This could be the best team ever and if that doesn't interest you then why are you even watching football in the first place. Hate them fine, but understand and appreciate what you are watching.

I hope the Pats underestimate the Steelers as much as Pip. Yeah, the Steelers almost lost to the Dolphins, but didn't the Pats almost loose to Philly and Baltimore. I've been saying it all year, there are only a handful of teams that have the D to compete with the Pats. The Steelers are one of them. As for the Pats being found out. Not yet. They are 12-0 seems to me no one has figured out how to win, they have only figured out how to come close.

JuT, if you hate New England so much, then get out. Seriously. You bitch and moan about New England all the time, yet you chose to go to school up here. I went to school in upstate New York. Did I like upstate New York? Not really, but I didn't spend my time crying about the place I decided to live.

I don't expect anyone outside of Patriots fans to want the Patriots to go undefeated. That would be ridiculous. And I even understand hating the Patriots, because winning teams are easily hated.

However, there is such hatred out there for the Patriots that it seems to prevent NFL fans for giving the Patriots credit. People make cliched statements like "New England didn't win the game, Baltimore lost it." Or they blame the officiating. Or they blame videotapes of defensive signals. Or they whine about running up the score. Or they use one of the worst words in sports: "lucky."

The Patriots are 12-0. They've never been 12-0 before. They are the best team in the NFL. It's still early, but they are poised to become the best team in NFL history. Accept it.

I have not underestimated Pittsburgh, I just saw the Jets game and the Dolphins game AND their game sunday night. In all three games they played like crap. We'll cross the miami game out due to extreme conditions, and we can still say that the Steelers are not playing good football right now. They'll step it up of course, but there is soemthing off about that team. I don't know what's wrong exactly, but you bet your ass Bill knows!

The only thing I seem to be accepting is that you guys are the types of fans that make New England a terribly sports city for anyone outside of it...

JuT, if you hate New England so much, then get out. Seriously. You bitch and moan about New England all the time, yet you chose to go to school up here. - That's easy, I picked a school that was right for me...it wasn't about sports...

Now I live up here...i didn't facking think i'd have to deal with their bullshit...

Its annoying to have something you're so passionate about be berated at every step...this is the new england sports scene...and its new england fans like you that make everyone else hate it so much....you're pompous, arrogant, disrespect the game and think your shit doesn't stick...

It stinks...deal with that...

and what part of the game made you think...damn...new england won that...no...baltimore truly lost that game....did philadelphia lose their's...yes...feeley threw 2 key interceptions and the play calling was suspect...but baltimore...no...they got jobbed and were severely unlucky...

I hated seeing Denver almost do it...and I feel the same way about New England...the only thing that would make me happier than watching New England lose to Pittsburgh, Miami, etc would be for them to lose to indy...

What parts made me think the Pats won:

Faulk's strip/tackle of Reed McGahee's 4 yards of rushing in the 4th quarter (versus 74 in the 3rd) Brady being Brady (composed and always finding a way to win) Having linebackers back to cover the hail mary alongside Defensive Backs. So that a few guys can try to bat the ball down and a few are there to tackle anyone who may catch the ball. How often do you see that? Never, because the Pats are winenrs and do things that losers can't/won't do. Like think and stay composed.

It's a moot point though. Two teams were involved, one got a win and the other a loss. We are arguing over whether one is Awesome or the other Sucks. It really doesn't matter. If you hate the Pats you can trash the Ravens, I'm ok with that.

The problem is when they need to, they can score at will. THey'll force you to make mistakes. That was uncharecteristic of the ravens. The Pats Recievers are so athletic that it becomes extremely hard to play shutdown D on them for all 60 minnutes. I think the pats made them lose the game. They were able to keep calm and under control, while the other team got anxious and lost discipline. And as a side note, I said from the minute the discussion began about who would make their Wr Corps that Gaffney wouldn't get cut.

Look, Baltimore and Philly are very mediocre teams, they had their chances, and if it is not for their awful QB situations, they both win. Pittsburgh is a 9-3 team that is very good in bad weather (potentially this Sunday), and their defense is 50 times better than the Eagles and Ravens combined.

Both teams match up well against the Pats. Strong Defensive teams that live by keeping the ball over the middle of the field. And I feel the pats were playing down to their level, and not at their best form. Basically, the pats brought their C game, while Baltimore and Philly brought their A game, and the Pats still won

The Steelers D may be the best of the three, but both Philly's D and Baltimore's D both played very well. Concerns for Pitt are Parker's fumbles, if the weather is rainy, and he decides to put the ball on the ground 3 or 4 times they are dead. Last night you saw a lot more Maroney, and enxt week you'll see even more.

So let me see if I can get this strait. Close games and losses to bad teams are an indictment of the Steelers but near losses to bad teams is just the Pats playing their C game. Funny thing, it got cold and the Pats passing game started slipping. Not because they can't play in cold weather, but because every teams passing goes down hill in crappy weather generally. I used to think the Steelers played to the level of their competition. I would blame Cowher for that all the time. But then they changed coaches and the same crap happened this year. It's not that the Pats brought their C game and those other teams brought their A game. It's that the Pat brought their usual great A game and those other teams brought their A+++++++++++++++++++++++ game. It's teams at the bottom of the heap trying to play spoiler.

Steel Town, could it be that the pats passing game has "slipped" because they've played the best defenses they've faced all year?

I have yet to indict the Steelers. The Miami game was a mess, and rightfully so. The Field was so disasterous that it was nearly impossible to actually win the game outright. That might have been their A game that showed up, but the weather destroyed them. I think you do have a point, though, that the Pats are playing with a gigantic target on their backs.

I like the Steelers as a team. I think Big Ben is a very good QB, and I think Tomlin is the next "new hotness". When BB steps down from command,I think Tomlin will be thought of as the "genius".

This game will be amazing. I just hope the weather is either nice, or absolute crap. Anything in between makes it worse because in nice weather, it'll be a shootout, and in crappy weather, it'll be like the Super Bowl, cept for both teams have a shot to win

Last aspect of the blueprint I have yet to see/hear mentioned here or on ESPN:

Don't let the Pats take an early double digit lead. Watson doesn't drop that wide open TD, not Lewis's great play but the next pass to Watson, and this game is different.

The Pats style is to go up big early and then crush their opponents will. How many mid-level wins do they have (differentials of 10-14 points)? None. The games have been massive blowouts or heart-attack wins. Don't make mistakes and take that 10-14 point lead if you can, on top of the rest of the blueprint, and you may win.
