A rather pleasing thought

In over 400 years of cricket being played, there has never been an incident of a player needing to be thrown out/ejected from a game. In 400 years of the sport, ranging from village level, to student level, to professional level, not once has it happened. So much so, there isn't even a rule in the book to cover such a circumstance! Especially something as major as cricket, it is played by billions of people (India contributes almost that figure alone), and not once has it happened, since the first recorded games ever played in the 16th and 17th century. And not once has it been in any Cricket Law book ever published, the first of which were written in 1744. I don't think there is a single sport in the world that doesn't have a rule that can remove a player from the game. It's a great example to set.

Just thought you'd like to know!

"ranging from village level, to student level, to professional level" I don't think you can really tell, but it is an interesting point, alex

Of course you can. Nobody can be thrown out of a game, if there isn't a law in the book that says you can! Otherwise the rules would be breached, there would be protests etc. Also, if umpires felt the need for it, then it would be in there. So umpires all over the country must agree that it isn't needed. And since all levels are represented on the umpiring committee at some point, that much can be certain.

You don't need umpires or a rule book...if someone pulled out a rule book during a pickup game i'd kick him in the balls...

In cricket, they are just decision makers, rather than law enforcers... Generally.

Getting thrown out of a game, well, it just isn't cricket.
