A little editing help? (Nothing to do with F1!)

I'm hoping to put Snooker World Rankings on the site, since their inception. I just wondered if anyone would like to help me.

All you would need to do is copy wikipedia in our format, which can be seen on the 2007 Snooker World Rankings page. Wikipedia only goes down to Number 32, but that will be fine as a start. The 2007/08 rankings are really the 2007 Rankings though. So bare that in mind on wikipedia's version.

You wouldn't even need the points columns, you'd just need the list of players in the nations (wikipedia doesn't have them). So all you'd need to compile is a list of names, like on the 1977 Snooker World Rankings page.

It takes about 10 minutes to do and if you could help me with that, then I would be able to do a whole heap of good stuff on the snooker player profiles, like tables of their World Ranking history, season best performance etc.

All that would need to be done then is for them to be categorised, so just put them in the World Snooker Rankings category. The 2006 version can have a different format - the current doesn't look professional enough in my opinion. So keep the stats if you want to do that year.

The information is easily locatable. Go to wikipedia and type in World snooker rankings followed by the year you want to put the rankings in for. If you wanted to do 2007, you'd type in World snooker rankings 2007/2008. So if you want to do 1978, you'd type in World snooker rankings 1978/1979.

Wikipedia does have errors though:

  • The South Africa flag should be the apartheid one.
  • Murdo MacLeod should be Murdo McLeod
  • Some players need AGM specific names. E.g. Joe Johnson (Snooker) is better than just Joe Johnson.

All those are easily to overcome by copying and pasting the previous year's rankings.

Would anyone like to help?
