A Solution for the NFL to keep the Patriots (and other teams) from cheating more...
So the guy in the stands is videotaping your defensive signals coach and figuring out what defense you're going to run.
OK.
1) Change your signals. Duh. (This is the beauty of baseball)
OR...
2) Do what they did on the offensive side of the ball YEARS ago. They gave QBs a headset in the helmet to eliminate signal stealing. Put a headset in the helmets of defensive playcallers and make it fair on both sides.
Seriously, the technology is readily available to use multiple headsets, changing bandwidths and preventing the other team from intercepting signals and it would eliminate the guys from signalling the entire stadium instead of just the players who need the playcall.
Have multiple players recieve the defensive play call - a lineman, a linebacker and a secondary back and eliminate the possibility of having Bill Belichick lie.
It's just that simple. Motorola is an official sponsor and no doubt they need the business. They can develop a special set made to withstand the hits and punishment a defensive player's helmet might incur.
It's 2008 - teams can use a cellphone to steal hand signals, come on!!! It's time to get the flagman off the poopdeck and use the available technology.
THEN we can get to move on and get rid of the plain retarded word used to describe this fascination - Spygate. Ugh... "Watergate" was the hotel where it happened, the scandal WASN'T about WATER!!!
