A Slight Alteration of the Code of Conduct
I was perusing the CoC today and see if there was I way I could ban SSReporters (there's not...for the record) and came across a potentially confusing issue.
Under the Commenting section it lists "off-topic" as a potential "violation" of the CoC. It think this term was originally intended to ensure no one drags other random stuff onto the thread without reason, but I also think that in those instances it will either be ignored or be related to another violation of the CoC (like a flame war).
Additionally, the section at the end (Final Word) has the same issue: "As a member, encourage others to stay thread focused on the topic at hand." (it also has a typo because I'm good that way). Maybe that part isn't as egregious as the first, but it might be worth revisiting.
So in conjunction with the CoC, I guess I'm moving to amend this slightly - thoughts, ideas, blatant flames to call me a moron?
From the CoC:
Remember, this applies to the degree of which a thirteen year old could witness. [1] If a user finds a comment to be:
* abusive in any way * off-topic (I want to remove this) * an ad-hominem attack * promoting hate of any kind * excessively foul language * blatantly spam
