A Game I'd Like to Play

I am hoping to put together a game of Batracer, to contribute towards the Games Series. If you go to the Batracer website, there is a motorsport simulator which enables many motorsport simulations, including that of the 2007 Formula One season. I would like to have an ArmchairGM version of this, but I shall explain how it works first.

You start off obviously by registering. You then would enter a private league to an ID that I choose. You would then pick a team. And that's it for the registration.

When the game starts, you would need to devote about 3 minutes per day setting up your car. This is done by adjusting slidable bars in testing. On a test lap, you simply set the slider bar to a number, and then depending on how riskily you test, there will be a setting that tells you where to move the slider to gain the optimum setting. This of course alters at each race venue.

There is one simulation every 24 hours. The first simulation is Qualifying for Race 1. 24 hours later, the Race for Round 1 will start. 24 hours after, Qualifying for Round 2 will start. In between, you should set up your car in the practice and warm up sessions, so that eventually, your car is perfectly set up for the race.

You can customise your driving style, e.g. how agressive you are, how much you protect your car etc. You can choose which type of tyres to use, soft or hard (or intermediates or wet if needs be). You can choose your qualifying strategy, i.e. how hard to push and when to go out for your laps. You can choose your race strategy to the finest detail too, e.g. what tyres you use when, what to do if the whether changes, when to make your pitstops, whether you want to race for a position or settle in the pack, or whether you want to race your team-mate or not. You can then see how you did in the simulation lap-by-lap.

There are 11 teams and hence 22 slots (11 types of car). I would like to think that most could be filled. Teams of 2 are good, as there is a private team talk section for you to share your set up information. That is helpful to get you to the front of the grid, and it really helps your performance.

I think you need a minimum of 10 to initiate the game, so I post now to guage interest. It would last for 34 days (17 races * 2 days), and I would like to start it late July/early August. If it is successful, there are other series that can be played if people so desire. I'm off school then, so it's ideal for me.

I already have the interest of 2, i.e. me and a friend of mine, who will become a user of this site in order to take part if it goes ahead, and indeed would play in other Fantasy Games too, so I can get people involved over here in this way. However, I'd like to see how many people from ArmchairGM at the moment would like to play before asking too many more.

Please express interest, or ask questions in the comments.

Excellent! You make 3, and I just asked another friend, makes 4. 6-18 more needed.

If anyone wants to "practice", or get used to it, then you can join a public game to see what's going on.

within Batracer, what type of league would it be, so I know what to practice, or does it not matter?

Formula One is the series we're going to be playing, i.e. F1-2007. Practicing that will teach you the rules etc. I.e. how to use tyres etc.
