AGM Spring Silliness Open Thread Part III

Oh boy what a day we've had. Both UConn and Drake fall in the first round in overtime on last second shots, and South Alabama gets clocked by Butler, setting up Butler/Tennessee on Sunday.

We've got 8 games over the next 5 hours and here they are:

Nice coaching move by Vandy. Bringing in the DB, Jamie Graham. This kid has caused immediate havoc with Sienna's offense. Vandy is slowing climbing back into it. If they could get more consistent play at the offensive end, we'll have a great game here.

and here come the officials. Just starting the 2nd half of the Siena-Vandy game and there immediately two questionable calls. One at each end. Both against Siena It just seems that the officials do what they can to help the higher seed. I saw it earlier in the W. Ky game as well. They were strong enough to overcome it though.

You really think the refs are thinking about the betting lines? I don't know, but I like to think maybe there are some fair things in the world, like college basketball refs. I ref games myself (albeit 5th and 6th graders) and there are always calls you miss and one or both teams think they got screwed. Every game, without exception. I think the refs do a pretty good job for the most part.

Run and gun. This is a wide open offensive game. Very enjoyable to watch. That's the book on Siena. They don't need a shot clock. They shoot early and often. If they're on, they can score a ton. If they're off, you can score a ton.

It's pretty amazing that UNC has 86 points, and there's still 10 minutes to go. I think if UNC wasn't doing so good on offense, this would be a hell of alot closer.

BBB15....I know you're riding North Carolina a lot, but they're the #1 overall seed, and Mount St. Mary's is essentially team #64....this is not impressive. Putting up 120 on Washington State....that's different.

It's a 16 seed, but they are absolutely getting thrashed. This can only be a good sign for UNC. I don't care what you say, fact is they are going to put up well over 100 and win by over 40 or 50 on a team that's good enough to make the NCAA tournament. Impressive.
