Playoffs?
Bear with me for a moment while I express what may in fact be a borderline crazy idea:
Yahoo!'s framework unfortunately does not allow points leagues like ours to have head-to-head-type playoffs at the end of the season. If we're okay with this, then the season is now over and congrats to Falcon for winning the championship. But I think we can add a little real-life playoff drama to the league, if you guys are up for it...
There is a free baseball simulator out there called the Strategic Baseball Simulator. As commissioner, I can use this program to simulate head-to-head playoffs between teams -- say we, like MLB, have 8 teams make the playoffs, the top 8 in the final standings above... In the playoffs, we pit 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, and so on in a best-of-5 series. Then we move on to the best-of-7 "League Championship Series" and finally the "World Series" of AGM Fantasy Baseball.
It should be pretty easy to do -- my only regret is that SBS doesn't allow 2 teams to play head to head in real time over the internet, so I would have to enter each team's final roster into a file and simulate the games on my computer, then write an article about the results. If this sounds like an appealing idea to you guys, let me know, otherwise we'll do a more complete wrap-up of the season in a few days.
I don't know about you, though, but the idea of a real playoff sounds exciting! Let me know what you think...
