AGM Community - Welcome the new "Traffic" of sports fans with open arms

As some of you may know already, a site that has "some" members on it who believe they are our "rivals" has recently been shut down.

I am, of course talking about Jaythejoke.com.

It was shut down yesterday - for reasons unknown - and now there are quality orphaned sports fans wandering the 'net looking for a fix.

With such tragic occurances happening, I want you to embrace the flow of some wonderful sports fans to our site. After these guys and gals have a passion for their teams just like you or I.

Now, there has been bad blood between our two sites in the past, but I assure you that the (non-banned) members of JTJ are indeed intelligent, articulate and decent people who are only here because they cannot get their sports fix anywhere else.

I plead of ALL of you to be clear- and open-minded and to welcome these passionate fans with OPEN ARMS!

Fear not, they are NOT bringing their "bad seeds" with them. Let your assumed prejudices fall powerlessly to the wayside and rest assured that these wonderful members are indeed members of THIS community as well.

If you see one of them, offer them a courteous "Hello!" and expect that they too are here only for quality sports banter... (with an undertone of bashing Jay Mariotti - which I think we all agree, is a noble purpose)

Welcome them, "Friend" them... encourage them to take part in all that AGM has to offer. Show them the features and let them HAVE FUN!!!Make them feel at home in the most wonderful Sports-wiki community in the WWW.

Let me be the first to offer to take these wandering sports souls in!

Unfortunately your information is incorrect. JTJ has not been shut down. Rather the site was deliberately and maliciously hacked. As a result a criminal report has been filed with the Chicago Polic Department. We had hoped that the site would be up this morning. However, apparently there are some problems in the re-building process. All files, though, have been recovered.

I saw that article and found it to be wonderfully scathing.

Serious question SSS: What do you think are the genuine odds that Jay Mariotti will get fired?

I don't think the Sun-Times cares what he does because controversy sells. Haters buy papers too, ya know?

It seems his print work blows like a hurricane on crack yet he is still getting his fishlips regular face time on TV.

I know one thing, the more people see him, the more they will accept him as legitimate - whether they pay attention to him or not.

I mean, even if he gets fired or leaves Chicago, he's just gonna pop up somewhere else and be on ESPN every day anyway...

Someone needs to catch him in a sexual harassment case - but who would sacrifice themselves for the greater good like that?
