So Davis...theoretically, at the end of the year the division standings and your Iterative power rankings should be roughly the same right? AKA, each division team plays roughly the same schedule, excluding a few interleague differences (and 1 or 2 non-division foe differences), but all and all, about the same?

Well, sort of. Within a division the SOS differences could make a slight difference, certainly enough to change the order of teams. Also, it's possible -- as we saw with Arizona last year and some other teams -- for a team to significantly outperform their run differential and component stats. So there's no guarantee that the top-ranked IPR team in a division will be the division winner... But you can say with some certainty that they played better baseball than anyone else in their division.

I plead conspiracy...

Davis' formula is set to show that his team's look good...

Notice that the Braves and Red Sox, his two teams, are one and three respectively in these rankings...

I'm going to come up with a formula that puts the Rays on top...

)
Seriously Davis, I do enjoy these rankings, even if I rarely comment on them...
