D21W, can you tell whether the AL or the NL is the stronger of the two? Or can you not do that yet because they haven't played one another? Looking at this data, there seem to be a lot of NL at each end, with AL in the middle.

I'm not sure how relevant this is, since (as you said) there haven't been any interleague games yet, but the average AL team's rating is about 20 points higher than that of the average NL team, while the standard deviation of ratings in the NL is significantly higher. This suggests that the AL is more competitively balanced -- while the top NL teams have played every bit as well as those of the AL, the NL's bottom-feeders are worse than those of the AL. I think this matches our intuitive beliefs about the 2 leagues in terms of quality (the AL has been better for a while now), although not necessarily in terms of balance (going into the season I felt like there was more parity in the NL than the AL). It will be interesting to see if this stays the same as the season goes on.
