2007 ArmchairGM Sports Awards - Just to let you know...
Okay, I know, I know! It's only July... But I just thought I'd nudge you into thinking about some of these things ready for when you will need to vote. The awards I'm going to... award... are:
- Team of the Year (The Best Team in 2007)
- Underdog of the Year (The Biggest Overachievers)
- Broadcaster of the Year (The Best Broadcaster/Journalist etc.)
- Sportsmanship Award (Who showed most sportsmanship in 2007?)
- Coach of the Year (The Best Coach in 2007)
- "We'll Miss You" Award (The player that retired in 2007 that will be the biggest loss to their sport)
- "Play For Your Lifer" Award (The Player that never gives in)
- Rookie of the Year (Which rookie was the best in 2007?)
- Breakthrough of the Year (Which player came through to be good after years in the sand)
- Fans of the Year (Who's fans showed the most dedication to the team in 2007?)
Then, the big award:
- Sports Personality of the Year (Who was the best sportsman in 2007?)
And finally, a "fun" award:
- Friday Fryer of the Year (Which player was the unluckiest, dopiest etc. in 2007?)
It works in the ol' AGMVC way, "patented" if you like, by Steaksammich last May. You vote for 5 people in each one, with rotisserie scoring. You vote for 10 in the Sports Personality of the Year Award.
I will repost all of this again in December - this is simply to alert you they will happen. So if you see something you think could fit into one of these categories, memory log it, and it gives you someone to vote for when the time comes!
