Lloyd Waner (Lloyd James Waner) was born on March 16, 1906 in Harrah, Oklahoma. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1927 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1927, his rookie year, he hit .355 with 2 home runs and 27 RBI. Waner played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 18 year career.

Most people believe that Lloyd Waner's best season was 1929, when he hit for a .353 average and knocked in 74 runs.
