Lloyd Carr Retiring?

Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr will allegedly announce his retirement next Monday after the Ohio State game. The story was reported by mgoblog, citing three anonymous sources within the Michigan Athletic Department.

Carr has a 121-39 career record in 13 seasons as Michigan head coach, including an 81-22 record in Big Ten play. He has lead Michigan to five won or shared Big Ten titles, five BCS bowls, five top 10 finishes, and a National Title in 1997.

Let the Les Miles speculation begin.

This makes me sad as a Buckeye fan. Having Lloyd around was like a guaranteed W every year. And I hope Les gets the job. He is a great recruiter, but just as bad as an in game coach as Lloyd is. Les Miles = Lloyd 2.0

I meant since Tressel was there. Lloyd is 1-5 since then. But thanks for knowing what I meant and twisting it. Oh, and 6-6 against your rival is something to write home about. Yeah .500!

He has been a great college coach... but he hasn't been the type of coach that Michigan has needed, especially in the last few years.
