Live Blog: GAME 7!!!

Again, I will not be here for the live blog (I am going to my Uncle's house to watch the Steelers/Broncos game on high def.), but I will give you a little pre-game info on tonight's Game 7 between the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox (in Boston).

Starting Pitchers

CLE: Westbrook (1-1, 6.17 ERA in '07 Postseason)

BOS: Matsuzaka (0-1, 6.75 ERA in '07 Postseason)

Players to watch

CLE

Kenny Lofton

Grady Sizemore

Victor Martinez

BOS

Manny Ramirez (he's a monster in the postseason, so lookout Cleveland)

David "Big Papi" Ortiz

Mike Lowell

Keys to the Game:

  • Boston needs run support with "Dice-K" on the mound the Sox will need to score runs, and lots of them.
  • If Cleveland gets runs early, then Dice-K will crack, and Cleveland hitters will get a shot at the tired Sox bullpen.

Who will win:

  • Boston has the momentum, and I don't see the Tribe winning this one, they had their chance to win the series twice already, they had Carmona, and Sabathia on the mound the last two nights, and they couldn't wrap it up.  So, I don't see them winning it with Westbrook on the mound tonight.  Matsuzaka will get his overdue time in the spotlight tonight when the Sox beat the Tribe.  I am sticking with my prediction from before the series started, Sox win.

Game Time: 8 P.M. ET (first pitch in 9 minutes)

Good preview. But you also shouldn't leave out Kevin Youkilis, who has put up mad numbers this series as well.

I saw Boston winning game 5 and Cleveland winning game 6, but I'd have to say that even though Boston has the momentum, Cleveland is going to win it, UNLESS Francona goes to his bullpen early. Dice-K hasn't pitched his best of games in either of his playoff appearances, and Westbrook pitched decent last time. But we'll see what happens. If Westbrook gets knocked around, according to Sports Center, the 2 main pitchers in the bullpen would probably be CC Sabathia and Paul Shuey. Everyone's is ready to pitch, except for Fausto Carmona, and that new guy, Aaron ____, I don't remember.

Anyways, same goes with Boston. The only pitchers who aren't ready to pitch tonight are Curt Schilling and Tim Wakefield.

This is not going to be a blowout, IMO. It's going to be a very close game, but I think Cleveland will end up on top.

I think you mean Paul Byrd, not Paul Shuey...Shuey was washed up four years ago (though he actually did pitch 25 terrible innings w/Baltimore this year).

So is this not in the locker room because he wrote a preview? I think that classifies as an article...

Good question. We'll probably have Tylersalt decide, since he's the only guy here that switches opinions to lockerroom topics here.

Here is a stat you might wanna look at:

Franchise records for Game 7s for the pennant:

Boston 3-5 (2-1 in the last 20 years; won against the Angels in 1986, lost to the Yankees in '03, and won against the Yanks in '04)

Cleveland is 0-1

Will this determine who will win tonight? I don't know. Probably not, but it's pretty interesting to compare 2 teams with a certain stat.

Its funny that Boston has been in the last 4 ALCS Game 7's, the ones you mentioned Romi, while Cleveland has never been in one

No runs scored in the top of the 1st. 0-0, going into the bottom of the first with Pedroia, Youkilis, and Ortiz up.

Youkilis has batted .400 in the ALCS. That's big for the Sox.

That's O.K. Romi, I made the mistake, I should have put this in the lockerroom instead of putting it in an article.
