Within the last hour, news has escaped indicating that MLB player Barry Bonds is being indicted over his steroid testimony to a federal grand jury. The web site, the smoking gun, has placed on the web a copy of the indcitment. It can be seen from this link: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/1115072bonds1.html.
This is truly a tragic day in baseball history. The new home run king has been found to be a lying fraud. The sport sold their souls to get fans to care after the disaertous strike of 1994. Now, the demons are coming for payback.
Sadly, this is another reason why my days of following professional sports are drawing to a close. If they want to cheat and the leagues turn a blind eye, fine. But when I stop watching and spending money on tickets, that my friend, will be the final and ultimate response to this mockery. The question is: when will this day occur? Are we talkings weeks, months or years?
