Link Lyman (William Roy Lyman) was born on November 30, 1898 in McDonald, Kansas. After going to high school at McDonald (KS)#, Lyman attended the University of Nebraska. Lyman made his professional debut in the NFL in 1922 with the Canton Bulldogs. He played for the Chicago Bears, Canton Bulldogs, Cleveland Bulldogs and Frankford Yellow Jackets over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that 1924 was Link Lyman's best year, as he ran back 2 fumbles for touchdowns.
