I'm a 23-year-old Georgia Tech grad who lives and dies with the Yellow Jackets, Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. I'll also catch the odd Braves game now and then.

Interesting that Rick Wise's 1971 ho-hitter against the Reds (in which he hit two homers) isn't there. I'd have put it there just for his two homers. A lineup that included Rose, Bench, Perez, Foster, McRae and Lee May. But the two homers - that's pretty cool. And then being traded for Steve Carlton the following year...

Interesting. Hey, Davis (or any of the baseball guys) here at AGM, has Greg Maddux ever been close to a no hitter?

On May 28, 1995, Maddux pitched a complete game one hitter vs the Astros. Jeff Bagwell led off the eighth inning with a solo HR. That is the deepest he has gone into a game with out allowing a hit, and also his only career one hitter.

Thanks, Kelsdad. Is he not made for a No-hitter type of game, or is it just a random thing to do that?

In Maddux' case, a combination of both. He doesn't miss alot of bats, which increases the percentage of a ball in play becoming a hit. But seeing that Roger Clemens has never pitched a no-hitter either, maybe it is more of a random thing.

Some trivia about Virgil Trucks. He pitched two no hitters in 1952 despite having a 5-19 record and he won one no hit game when Vic Wertz homered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth in a 0-0 game. He pitched four no hitters in the minors. Trucks turned 91 last month and in an article dated in 2004 he said he signs autographs for free if someone sends for his autograph. Try getting a free autograph from Barry Bonds.

For me, any of Nolan Ryan's in his 40s are tops. He no-hit some very good teams in the 1980s. Also. Cleveland's Bob Feller should also be included. Gotta like the fastball.

Packers 27, Ravens 14. It wasn't pretty: 310 total penalty yards and 7 total turnovers, but the Packers stay alive in the NFC Wild Card race.
