Lewis Gilbert (Lewis Howe Gilbert, Jr.) was born on May 24, 1956 in Naples, Florida. After going to high school at Naples (FL), Gilbert attended the University of Florida. Gilbert made his professional debut in the NFL in 1978 with the Atlanta Falcons. He played for the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons over the course of his 3 year career.
