Lew Pope

Lew Pope (Lewis Lawrence Pope) was born on February 18, 1908 in West Lafayette, Indiana. After going to high school at Frederick (OK), Pope attended Purdue University. Pope made his professional debut in the NFL in 1931 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played for the Cincinnati-St. Louis Reds-Gunners, Cincinnati Reds and Providence Steam Roller over the course of his 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1933 was Lew Pope's best year.
