Born on April 25, 1943 in Media, Pennsylvania, Lew Krausse (Lewis Bernard Krausse, Jr.) played for the Kansas City Athletics, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 12 year career. Krausse broke into the bigs on June 16, 1961 with the Kansas City Athletics, and put up a 4.85 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched in 1961, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lew Krausse's best season was 1966, when he posted a 2.99 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 87 batters.
