Letter to an Embarrassment

Dear Mr. Isiah Thomas,

Here is the opinion of one life long Knick fan, as I am sure is held by many other Knick fans. The opinion is that you make it quite a bit difficult to be a Knicks fan, thanks to your horrible job as a general manager, and now as a coach.

First of all, since your reign of terror has begun, you have strapped the team against the salary cap for seemingly the rest of eternity. Expensive players that do nothing, and just cost a lot. Thanks very much.

Then, you bring in Larry Brown as the head coach, which would have been a good move, provided you had brought in players that fit into his style, rather than fit into the style that you want to play. Then, in a non-shocking turn of events, ran him out of town. You know, if you wanted to be the coach in the first place, you should have named your pathetic self coach last year. Don't give us the illusion that you want to have a good team, when in fact you don't.

Then, you field this horrible team, and then they come to blows the other night. And who is instigating it, warning players not to drive the lane?? YOU! You are the coach. You need to be the symbol of how the game should be played. You played in an era of Michael and Magic and Larry, when the word "class" was actually associated with the NBA. Now look at you. You are instigating fights on the court, and coaching a team where the players act like they earned something by getting in a fist fight.

You are despicable. You have done a despicable job running this team and coaching this team. You have succeeded in running a once proud franchise into the ground, and all the while earning a vote of confidence from your equally despicable owner, James Dolan. You are one slick piece of work sir.

You are a disgrace. The job you have done is a disgrace, and you disgrace all Knick fans. You disgrace a hallowed arena on a daily basis, and you disgrace the memory of Patrick Ewing, Walt Frazier and everything that was once great about the Knicks.

Thanks for nothing,

Sincerely, Disgusted Knicks Fan

Dear Isiah, thanks for spending approx 1/2 a billion dollars with nothing to show of it. Way to go, dude.

Where's your letter to Dolan? If I had a gun with only one bullet, I'd shoot him first. This team was on the road to garbage well before Isiah. That said, Isiah is probably the worst GM/coach in the history of the league.

Here's a mind-bending question: who did more damage to the Knicks, Isiah or Layden? Because Dolan hired both, I'm inclined to agree with Joshkross -- Isiah's just the middle-man in this mess. Dolan is the most despicable of them all.

Dear James Dolan, we have to look no further than to your immediate family to find not one, not two, but three (your dad and your two brothers) who cannot stand you, or at least your business decsions. Sure, go against Dad who built the biz, when he suggest you take cablevision to the next level, satellite. It's only a billion dollar biz with only two major players competing so, yeah, easy to see why there is no growth there.

But besides that, you have proven your business savvy by aquiring the Wiz electronics store and running that to the ground faster than anyone could say Crazy Eddie. And most certainly that was a harbinger of what was to come, as you continue to see over the demise of the most famous arena in sports and the teams that play in it.

Also, I might add, you put the kibosh on a rebuiding project involving the west side stadium that not only would generate millions of dollars for the great city of new york, but use up some real estate that is just going to waste, all so you could maintain hold on the perceived monopoly that you have on midtown sports.

Well, Mr. Dolan, I'm saddened to see you continue to take apart everything you touch and can only hope that someone comes in and saves the knicks, rangers and MSG before the jenga tower falls completely.
